Slotbound Controls

Complete Slotbound control scheme: slot machine inputs, absorption drag, shop navigation, combat speed, and controller support.

Slotbound on PC uses a mouse-driven interface optimized for the preparation phase between waves. Combat runs automatically, so controls focus on spinning the slot machine, absorbing units, equipping Items and Cores, and navigating shop menus. The demo supports mouse and keyboard; full controller support status may expand by the November 2026 release.

Preparation Phase Controls

  • Left Click: Spin the slot machine lever, confirm menu selections, purchase shop Items.
  • Drag and Drop: Drag a source unit onto a target unit to initiate absorption.
  • Right Click / Cancel: Close menus and cancel pending actions (context-dependent).
  • Mouse Hover: Inspect unit stats, Random Stats, Imprints, and Core effects via tooltips.
  • Number Keys / Hotkeys: Quick-select shop Items or Core slots where supported.

Combat Phase Controls

Combat is fully automatic once a wave begins. You can adjust combat speed if the game offers speed controls during auto-battle. Unit placement set during preparation determines formation—frontline units draw aggro while backline units deal damage. Some boss mechanics target rear rows, so drag units to reposition during preparation, not during combat. Review the judgement wave guide for placement strategies.

Menu and Shop Navigation

Shop menus appear between waves offering Items, gold exchanges, and occasionally Core upgrades. Click Items to preview effects before purchase. Reward screens after milestone waves require choosing between Items, Cores, or gold—click your selection to confirm. There is no undo on reward choices, so read tooltips carefully. The Items guide and Cores guide help evaluate options quickly.

Accessibility and Input Tips

Tooltip inspection is essential because Random Stats and Imprints are not visible at a glance on the board. Hover every new recruit before absorbing. If drag-and-drop feels imprecise, zoom the UI if the game offers scaling options in settings. New players should complete the in-game tutorial which walks through spin, absorb, and equip inputs step by step. Pair with the how to play guide for strategic context beyond raw inputs.

Speed controls during auto-battle vary by build. If available, increase combat speed during standard waves to save time and reduce to normal speed during boss encounters to observe ability timing. Learning boss attack cadence helps you adjust placement in subsequent runs even though you cannot control units mid-fight.

Keyboard shortcuts, where available, accelerate shop navigation and reward confirmation. Mouse remains primary for absorption drag operations. If you remap controls in Steam Input for controller play, verify drag-and-drop absorption still registers correctly—this is the most common controller compatibility pain point reported in early demo feedback.

Accessibility settings may expand before full release. Currently, tooltip reliance for Imprint and Random Stat reading assumes readable UI scale. Increase resolution or UI scale if tooltips strain your eyes during long demo sessions—information density per unit is high by design.

Right-click cancel behavior varies by menu context—experiment in safe preparation phases rather than during reward picks. Misclicks on reward screens cannot be undone, so slow down when choosing between Cores and Items even if combat phases feel fast-paced by comparison.

Preparation phase timing has no hard limit in most demo content—use that freedom to read every tooltip before absorption. Speedrunning controls comes after understanding; slow first clears build muscle memory that faster runs depend on later.

Keep the controls page open on a phone during your first three runs until absorption drag feels natural without hesitation or misdrops onto wrong target units.

Double-click misinputs sometimes purchase shop Items unintentionally—slow down near shop interfaces when gold reserves are tight. Every misclick hurts more than an extra second of confirmation delay during early demo learning runs.

Absorption drag from wrong source units wastes fodder permanently—zoom in or pause mentally before releasing the mouse button on every absorption during your first ten demo runs.
